From the archive: in 2020, Julie Lasky included my work in The New York Times article, “9 Top (and Stubborn) Design Trends.”

We spoke about macramé’s evolution from its familiar ’60s and ’70s associations into something larger, more sculptural, and more
connected to contemporary interiors. The piece considered the renewed pull of tactile, handmade materials in a world increasingly shaped by screens.

Six years later, I remain interested in that contrast: using an inherited hand-knotting language to create work with material weight,
texture, and presence in space.
